Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities:
To protect the environment, public health, and safety of San Diego
County residents through permit, inspection, consultation, planning,
investigation and enforcement activities in a wide variety of program areas
including food, housing, water quality, recreational health, land use, site
assessment and mitigation, solid waste and hazardous materials.
Average Salary:
$25,000 - $50,000
Education:
Students should take college prep. courses, especially in math and
science, this should also be the main priority in high school. A career in this
field f study requires at least a Bachelor’s Degree in environmental health or
engineering. Many jobs require more such as a Master’s Degree or job
certification.
Would I like to be an Environmental Health Specialist?
No I would not because like I said before, this takes too much work and
time and at the end you’re a mediocre. You don’t feel proud of your job and you
get paid a little compared to everyone else who actually made it all the way.
