"Obedience is the great test of life."
-Thomas S. Monson

I feel like this is a quote everyone should live by because it is not only important for yourself, but for everyone. Imagine if everyone followed the rules to no kill, do drugs, or hurt other people? The world would be so much better, but we don't. That is why be have murders and homicides. People do not obey the rules and that is why they do what they do. If you are obedient, you shouldn't have any type of problem in life, and this is what this great man is trying to tell us, but we do not listen.

"Obedience.... is the primary objective of all sound education."
-Elizabeth Missing Sewell

I think what this great woman means is that in order to be well educated, you have to pay attention and follow directions. For example, how would a little kid learn if he throws tantrums over test scores, over missing projects etc. in order for that kid to learn he has to shut up and listen. That's the only way anyone will learn. You can't talk back because that's being disobedient.

"The more obedient we are, the more freedom we have."
-Boyd K. Packer

I think what he means is that if you follow directions, you can do what ever you want. For example, if your mom tells you not to play with fire, don't do it. Do something else, and she won't get mad. People do not follow rules, that is why we are strict. If people followed rules we wouldn't need police officers etc.

" I would prefer even to fail with honor,
than win by cheating."
-Sophocles
I think what this great philosopher  means is that, true honor means to always keep trying without everh giving up, because as soon as you cheat or give up, you lose all your honor, as a man, and as a person. Honor is the only thing that helps us, as humans, to be able to stay friends and respect eatch other. Without honor, this world would not be how it is right now. We would have many more wars every day, every year, and it would impact us so much.

Attitude is the mind's paintbrush. It can color any situation.

What I think this saying means is that everything is white, and your brain is the paint. You can have a good attitude and paint it colorful, with cheerful colors. That means that you want to be happy, On the other hand, you can  paint it with gloomy colors, like black and brown. With those colors, you might be sad, angry, depressed. Your mind can do a lot of powerful things, but your attitude can stop it from doing so, or empower it to do so.
