This is an amazing quote because everyone can relate to it. The most famous example would be slavery because everyone was for it. It helped our economy and country, but it was wrong. Even if it did do all of that, we all knew it was wrong but almost nobody dared to do a thing. This is a great example that supports his quote. Another famous one would be the nazi one because hitler and germany were for it, even though they knew deep inside that it wasn't right.
