Student Success Statement

"I will persist until  I succeed."

-Og Mandino

I believe that he is a great man because he was about to kill himself because he couldn't get a job, but he didn't do it because he still had some hope left on him. He saw a job opening and decided to give it one last try, and that was what changed his mind and didn't cause him to kill himself. I believe he is really brave because he gave it one last chance, he gave life one last chance even though it might have been a let down.

Student Success statement
"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence."
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."
- President Calvin Coolidge

This great man said something genius. He said that not matter how smart you are, no matter how talented you think you are, no matter how rich or educated you are, you will never succeed without being able to endure even the toughest of things. Some people quit just after on try, some don't even try at all, he is saying, even if people reject you, you have to keep going until someone doesn't and they finally see your true potential. For example, Jordan was kicked out of his high school basketball team because they said he sucked, and look at him now, all star national basketball player winning millions of dollars every year until the day he dies, and they said he was never going to be anything in life.

"Persistence can change failure into extraordinary achievement."
-Matt Biondi

I think this guy is some one you can look up to because if you look at him 10 years before he was an Olympian gold medalists, he was a nobody and then he changed his mind. He wanted to be someone in life so he started training all day every day, so he became a world champion. But i bet he failed numerous times before he even came close to what he is now. He sets a good example to everyone who wants to be something in life and can't because they think they are failures. He says that you should do what ever you want, and even if you fail in the beginning, you should keep going until you become the champion.

The answers to these questions will determine your success or failure:

1. Can people trust me to do what is right?

2. Am I committed to doing my very best?

3. Do  I treat people the way I want to be treated?
If the answers to these questions are YES, there is no way you can fail."'
-Lou Holtz

I believe that I can answer YES to all 3 questions because even though sometimes I don't know who I am when I'm feeling down, deep inside I always find exactly who I am. These 3 questions mean a lot to me because they are the standards which i live by, these are the standards in which our beautiful Mr. Haymore taught us to live by. And if you are not able to say yes to all of them, you need to change, to become a better person for you and your family.

"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body,  it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong,
President John F. Kennedy.

I think this man, is one of the best presidents we will ever have because he knew the best way to become the best is to be the best. I guess what he means is that if you want to be at the very peak, you have to be able to go there. For example, you can't start off as the world's fastest runner, you have to train to become one, and to even begin training you have to get up, off your couch and do it. It will never happen just with time alone, you have to make sure you are also trying, and even the Greeks knew that this is what it took thousand's of years ago.

"Doing what is right, fair and honorable is more important than winning or losing."
Chick Moorman.
I totally agree with this quote because what is more important, winning a competition and getting 1 billion $ or help a guy cross the street and lose the competition. Without a doubt, helping is more important because deep inside, you'll always feel great about yourself. Also, the person you helped could remember you as a hero,  and you cant be that if you had 1$ billion dollars.
My Weekend
This week I did almost nothing productive. Although, starting this week, I am going to be joining football,. It will start this Monday and I will be going with some of my friends, so I don't feel that shy. I think it will be really good for me and and my health. From now on, my friends think he is very cool because he has 5 "girlfriends." I did not go to the dance because I could do other , more productive things like play PS4, or go to a party, so I decided to skip that. That was about all I did this past week and and /weekend.
