Psychiatric Aide - Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:
They help take care of the mentally ill, disabled, and infirm people who are confined to hospitals, mental facilities, and care facilities. They work under supervision of professionals. Technicians usually have more formal training and education than aides. They often

• Help patients bath, eat and dress.
• Escort Patients.
• Restrain patients.
• Help with orientation.

Salary:
$12,000 - $24,000

Education:
They sometimes require a high school diploma but not all the time. They need courses in English and science. A short training program may also be needed but sometimes can be done while on the job.

No I would not like to work as an aide because people at asylums or mentally ill people scare me because you never know what to expect from them. One day they can be happy and the other day they might try to kill you. Also they make noises or movements that can scare anyone and that is especially freaky.
