Medical Illustrator

Duties and Responsibilities:

They are highly skilled artists; they work strictly on the medical field and create graphics for textbooks, journals, magazines, and even educational films. They can draw anything from microorganisms to body parts. Some of the medical illustrators, aid on research or creation of a prosthetic body part. At times they are summoned to create a body part using their drawing skills.

Salary: $35,000 - $50,000

Education:

They should take college and high school medical prep classes that emphasize one science. Most of the illustrators have masters on art. To become an illustrator, one must have a certificate of graduation from the medical illustration field, a portfolio review and a successful national examination.

Would you like to be one?

I would like to be one of this illustrators because it seems like they do what they want as a dream job, and they get  paid a decent amount. I also like the fact that some of them can actually join with other groups to create a prosthetic such as an arm or leg. I think it is a good job to have.
